Piscataway >> Monmouth’s year of firsts keeps getting sweeter.
The Hawks added a first-ever victory over Rutgers on Sunday to a
list that now includes five wins against power-conference opposition.
They’ve beaten UCLA, Notre Dame, USC, Georgetown and Rutgers. A
list so impressive head coach King Rice couldn’t even remember how many
‘big-time’ schools his team had been up against.
“We felt like we had a good team, but you could never expect
something like this to happen,” Rice said after the Hawks held off the
Scarlet Knights, 73-67, at the RAC. “By the time each game gets here, I
have myself 100 percent believing if we do certain things, we can win
the game.”
Last Time Out: Princeton def. Lipscomb, 78-64; Liberty lost to Lamar, 73-58.
Series History: This is the third meeting between the schools, all in the last three years. Princeton has won both games, including 65-47 a season ago at Jadwin. Read more »

WATCH: Dwaun Anderson's winning dunk for Wagner against Rider
Dwuan Anderson's spectacular put-back dunk with 2.6 seconds remaining gave Wagner a 65-64 victory over Rider on Tuesday night.
Anderson finished with 12 points, none bigger than these two after the Broncs had come down and taken the lead on their previous possession.
The win was the fifth straight for the Seahawks after an 0-2 start and fourth straight loss for Rider. The Broncs have lost eight of their first nine with five of those coming by eight points or less.
Video after the jump (nice work by Rider radio's Daryl Fein on the call):
Report: Ivy League inching closer to conference tournament
The Ivy League may finally be ready to fall in line with the rest of college basketball, according to a report by CBS Sports.
Yep, you read that right. The Ivy League could have a conference tournament as early as next season. The Ivy is the only conference that currently doesn't have a tournament and gives its NCAA Tournament automatic bid to the regular-season champion.
