Caitlin Bopp poised for breakout season


LAWRENCEVILLE — Every once in a while a coach gets the feeling that a player is on the cusp of a breakout season.

For Rider boss Lynn Milligan, this is the year for senior center Caitlin Bopp.

Bopp is coming off a season in which she averaged 9.2 points and 7.3 rebounds per game in 25 appearances.

Rider Notebook: Baggett wants Broncs ready to run


LAWRENCEVILLE — One thing is clear about new Rider coach Kevin Baggett: his team is going to be in shape.

“More running,” said junior forward Danny Stewart when asked to name some of the changes Baggett has made since taking over for Tommy Dempsey.

“He wants us in tip-top shape.”

Baggett said he wants to get back to the days when Jason Thompson was at Rider and the team would get out and run.

With his waiver granted, Rider's Nurideen Lindsey is ready to go


LAWRENCEVILLE — Nurideen Lindsey was sitting in his Philadelphia home earlier this month when he received a text message from Rider coach Kevin Baggett.

The message was simple.

“Are you ready,” it read, “you got granted the waiver, it’s time to go.”

That news ended a wait that began back in January when Lindsey left St. John’s and landed at Rider. The NCAA granted him a Legislative Relief Waiver — more commonly known as a hardship waiver — that allows him to take part in the Broncs’ Nov. 9 season-opener.

We're Back!

Welcome back to the Full-Court Press blog. It's slightly new and somewhat improved. My colleague Nick Peruffo and myself will be bringing you news on Princeton and Rider hoops throughout the year.
