Princeton picks up commitment from 6-5 guard Vittorio Reynoso-Avila
Reynoso-Avila, a 6-5 guard out of La Mirada High School in suburban Los Angeles, averaged 12.7 points per game, while shooting 50 percent from the floor for the Matadores.
Reynoso-Avila helped La Mirada to the CIF State Division II championship and a 31-5 overall record. The Matadores beat Archbishop Mitty, 71-70 in double overtime at Haas Pavilion.
Reynoso-Avila was the MVP of the regional title game, a 49-40 victory over Lawndale, scoring 14 point and grabbing 13 rebounds.
Although he’s 6-5, Reynoso-Avila has a 7-foot wingspan and can both guard and play multiple positions. He's also considered to have a high basketball IQ.
He’ll join up with a Princeton team which is expected to return all of its key players for a group already off to a 5-2 start.
The Tigers are back in action Thursday night at 7 p.m. against Liberty at Jadwin before a marquee game Saturday evening vs. No. 6 Maryland in Baltimore.
