Welcome back to the Trentonian's Full-Court Press blog. Yes, we're still alive, and with the 2015-16 season rapidly approaching, it's time to fire up the old blog for another season. Check back here throughout the year for updates on all things Rider and Princeton, including coverage of both the MAAC and Ivy League. Rider Gameday: vs. Saint Peter's

Who: Saint Peter’s (1-4, 0-0) at Rider (1-5, 0-0)

When: Wednesday, 7 p.m., Alumni Gymnasium

Radio: 107.7 FM The Bronc.

Last Time Out: Rider lost to Rhode Island, 82-57; Saint Peter’s lost to Fairleigh Dickinson, 77-62.

Series History:  The Broncs have won 16 of the last 21, although the Peacocks got the important one last year when they bounced Rider from the MAAC Tournament in the quarterfinals.

Scouting SPU: Three of the Peacocks’ four losses have come by three points or less, including a 75-72 setback against Princeton. They have dropped four straight since topping Brown in the season opener. Four players average double figures in scoring, and a different player has led the team in points in each of its five games. Freshman Antown Portley (16.2 ppg) is the leading scorer, but keep an eye on forward Quadir Welton, who is posting 13 points and 9.6 rebounds per contest.

Scouting Rider: The Broncs are yet to break 70 points this season and their 58.3 points per game ranks 339th among Division I schools. This is a huge game for Rider, which needs to begin turning this season around. Remember, the Broncs started 2-5 last year and went on to win 21 games and finish second in the MAAC, so there is precedent for a turnaround. They are also through the tough part of the non-conference schedule and have another winnable league game on Friday at Fairfield. Xavier Lundy has been the top player thus far, averaging a team-high 11.2 points per game.
