Former TCA standout Robin Perkins transfers to Rider

The Rider women's basketball team is adding some local flavor.

Coach Lynn Milligan announced Friday night that former Trenton Catholic Academy star Robin Perkins will join the Broncs after spending her freshman season at St. Francis (Pa.).

Perkins has to sit out a season under NCAA transfer rules, but will be eligible in 2014-15. She will have three years of remaining eligibility.

Jason Thompson says he exepects to be part of Kings' plans

LAWRENCEVILLE — Jason Thompson is finally enjoying his summer.

The former Rider University star was on campus Saturday to take part in the school’s Alumni basketball game and said afterward he was relieved when the sale of the Sacramento Kings was completed.

The deal to sell the franchise to a group led by software tycoon Vivek Ranadive and keep it in California’s Capital city instead of a move to Seattle was finalized on May 31.

“I didn’t want to move,” said Thompson after helping his group of past Broncs to a victory. “Having the uncertainty of fans — not knowing if we were going to stay — it was a tough situation. But it’s something we don’t have to look at any more because we’re staying.”

Hummer to work out with Suns

Former Princeton forward and 2013 Ivy League Player of the Year Ian Hummer will participate in his first NBA workout Friday with the Phoenix Suns.

Hummer averaged 16.3 points, 6.4 rebounds and 4.1 assists per game last season, leading the Tigers to a second-place Ivy League finish.

According to azcentral.com, the Suns are also working out Lehigh's C.J. McCollum, Michigan's Trey Burke, Syracuse's Michael Carter-Williams and Miami's Shane Larkin.

Sources indicate to the Trentonian that Hummer also could work out for the Los Angeles Lakers, among others.
UPDATE: Goprincetontigers.com has confirmed Hummer will work out with the Lakers later this month, and added the Golden State Warriors and Sacramento Kings to his agenda.
