Princeton lands commitment from Alec Brennan

The Princeton Tigers added a fourth member to their 2014 recruiting class Wednesday with a commitment from Alec Brennan, a 6-foot-10 forward from Weston, Mass.

Brennan, considered a three-star recruit by ESPN and Rivals, had received offers from a number of major conference programs including Maryland, Purdue and Wake Forest.

The Milton Academy graduate is the second three-star prospect in the Tigers’ 2014 class, joining East Brunswick’s Amir Bell. The class also includes Mike Leblanc, a 6-6 small forward from Dover, N.H. and Aaron Young, a point guard from Lynchburg, Va.

Rider men picked fourth, women fifth

Anthony Myles is Rider's top returning scorer. The Broncs were picked to finish 4th in the MAAC.

Kevin Baggett enters his second season with heightened expectations.

Rider was picked to finish fourth in the 11-team Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference by the league’s coaches. The results of the preseason poll were announced Wednesday during the MAAC preseason show on ESPN3.

The Broncs return their second and third leading scorer from last year’s team that surprisingly went 12-6 in the conference, finishing with the No. 2 seed.

Seniors Anthony Myles (12.4 ppg) and Danny Stewart (10.6 ppg, 7.2 rpg) will be expected to lead the offense, while sophomore Zedric Sadler and freshman Jimmie Taylor will have to help replace the graduated Jon Thompson, the team’s top scorer and best all-around player.
