MAAC Madness in Springfield
Assuming the league sticks to its plan to award the tournament to the same site for the next three-year period, Springfield will be the tournament's home from 2012-14.
Welcome back to the Trentonian's Full-Court Press blog. Yes, we're still alive, and with the 2015-16 season rapidly approaching, it's time to fire up the old blog for another season. Check back here throughout the year for updates on all things Rider and Princeton, including coverage of both the MAAC and Ivy League. Kudos for selecting a TRULY Neutral site. Now the MAAC and the tournament organizing committee has the task of drumming up local interest, as that is what will ultimately determine if such a move is successful or not.
This is absolutely the worst choice of them all. no one will attend this, it's not close to any of the schools
Like boomboom and I have argued, Springfield is clearly the Best of Breed. There's no place quite like it in early March. Great job by MAAC!
MMC is only 8.19 miles further from Rider's Campus according to Mapquest. How is that really going to change the # of Bronc fans attending?
And unfortunately when they had their shot at the SBA the same 1,650 who show up in Alumni Gym came out for the tourney, so you are not going to get any closer for a NEUTRAL locale, unless they went to AC but the A-10 is there now.
