Princeton may have got off to a good start on Friday night, but the Tigers were dealt a huge injury blow late Saturday night when forward Hans Brase was ruled out for the year with a torn ACL.
The school announced the injury on Saturday night.
Brase, a senior co-captain, averaged 11.5 points and 7.5 rebounds per game over the last two seasons. He will return for his senior season in 2016-17, according to the release.
This is the second significant injury to an all-Ivy performer after Harvard's Siyani Chambers tore his ACL in the offseason. Because the Ivy League does not allow players to redshirt, Brase has to withdraw from school in order to return next season.
Brase was with Princeton on Friday night for its season-opening victory over Rider, but didn't dress and was on crutches.
