Rider to open MAAC slate against Siena at Alumni Gym
Rider begins its 2014-15 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference schedule on Sunday, Dec. 7 at home against Siena.
The MAAC revealed the league scheduled on Wednesday.
The MAAC traditionally plays two games is December in the midst of non-conference play. The Broncs travel to Iona on Dec. 10.
Once again, each school will play home and away against the other 10, making a 20-game conference schedule.
The Broncs play three of their first four conference games on the road, traveling to Marist and Fairfield after the New Year.
The first home weekend is Jan. 10 and 12 against in-state rivals Saint Peter's and Monmouth.
Rider's first look at defending MAAC champion Manhattan comes Sunday, Jan. 18 in Riverdale. The return date is set for Sunday, Feb. 8.
Kevin Baggett's team is coming off a 14-17 campaign, which included a 9-7 mark in the league. The Broncs slipped to seventh after losing seven of their final eight games.
The top six schools once again earn a first-round bye at the conference tournament, which is moving back to Albany, New York after spending three years in Springfield, Massachusetts.
The MAAC schedule comes about a month after Rider revealed one of its toughest non-conference slates in recent memory.
The Broncs have glamor games against Kansas and Michigan State in the same week as part of the Orlando Classic and they'll play eight of 11 non-league games away from Alumni Gym.
