Rider women to play 8 of 10 non-league games on road

Lynn Milligan's Rider women will have to be road warriors in the non-conference portion of their schedule.

The Broncs will play eight of their 10 non-league contests away from Alumni Gymnasium, beginning Nov. 14 at Seton Hall. The game is part of the Preseason Women's NIT.

The Pirates, coached by former Iona boss Tony Bozzella, won 20 games last year and reached the third round of the WNIT. They also beat Rider, 86-75, in an early-season match-up.

The Preseason WNIT continues with road games scheduled for Nov. 16 and 21 against opponents to be determined.

Other participating schools in the tournament are: Albany, Arkansas State, Central Arkansas, Colorado, Eastern Kentucky, Jackson State, Mercer, Mississippi State, North Dakota, Penn State, St. Francis Brooklyn, Towson, West Virginia and Western Kentucky.

Rider is coming off a 15-17 season and first ever berth in the MAAC semifinals. The team returns four of five starters, although MyNeshia McKenzie, the program's third all-time leading scorer and top rebounder graduated.

The Broncs play their home opener on Nov. 25 against Lafayette before heading on the road for three straight. They'll make trips Old Dominion, LIU Brooklyn and Penn State.

The only other home non-conference game is set for Dec. 18 against UMBC.
