Welcome back to the Trentonian's Full-Court Press blog. Yes, we're still alive, and with the 2015-16 season rapidly approaching, it's time to fire up the old blog for another season. Check back here throughout the year for updates on all things Rider and Princeton, including coverage of both the MAAC and Ivy League. Feel free to drop me a line on twitter @kj_franko (https://twitter.com/kj_franko) or email kfranko@trentonian.com.

Live coverage, women's quarterfinals

Live blogging that Canisius-Niagara game seemed like a better idea yesterday than it did this morning at 9:30, at which point I opted for another hour of sleep. The second-seeded Golden Griffs beat the 10th-seeded Purple Eagles 71-46 to advance to tomorrow's semifinals, where they'll play the winner of the Fairfield-Siena game. About midway through the first half of the Stags-Saints game, we'll resume the live blogathon.

Take Gadson off of Rider, and Rider still wins 17 or 18 games. Take Machado off of Iona, and Iona is lucky to win 3 games. The ball is in Machado's hands 95% of the time for Iona. No brainer with respect to Rookie of the Year.

Anyone find it odd that Gadson only started 9 games - the max to qualify for 6th Man of the Year?

Dempsey complaining if Gadson isn't Rookie of the Year, he's the 6th Man of the Year. This is why the entire MAAC messageboard is fed up with the nonsense that comes out of Lawrenceville.

And Mark Eckel is a disgraceful hack of a writer for that whining piece of dung he put in the paper yesterday. The funniest part of that article was Eckel saying Dempsey should be Coach of the Year for getting Rider into 3rd place after losing an NBA Lottery pick. But then Eckel goes on to promote McCaffery for the Rutgers job.

Note to Hack Eckel: McCaffery wouldn't take the Rutgers job - it would be a step down. On the other hand, Dempsey takes the Rutgers job in a minute - but he won't get offered, because the last Rider coach Rutgers hired, he had the Rutgers basketball team running naked after missing free throws in practice.
