Background: The Broncs renew a rivalry with the Mountain Hawks — formerly the Engineers when the two were rivals in the Middle Atlantic and East Coast Conferences — Saturday night when the two schools meet for the first time since 2009.
Rider leads the all-time series 31-20.
Lehigh is coming off a pair of 20-win seasons, but had to replace its three top scorers from those two seasons.
One of which, C.J. McCollum, was the 10th pick in 2013 NBA Draft by the Portland Trail Blazers.
McCollum missed most of last season — a 21-10 year — with a broken foot.
Gabe Knutson and Holden Greiner made up for his absence, averaging a combined 27.1 points per game.
Both those players are gone, leaving the Mountain Hawks with Preseason All-Patriot League selection Mackey McKnight as their top returning scorer.
He led the team in the loss to Minnesota with 18 points.
