Zedric Sadler missed Saturday's game for a violation of team rules/ Photo by JOHN BLAINE |
LAWRENCEVILLE — Rider coach Kevin Baggett said Zedric Sadler
will travel with the team this weekend when it concludes the regular season
with the Buffalo trip, but hasn’t decided if he will play.
Sadler was suspended for Saturday’s win over Charleston Southern
for a violation of team rules.
Baggett did not disclose the nature of his violation and called the suspension “indefinite” following Saturday’s game.
“It’s still to be determined,” said Baggett in regard to
Sadler’s status before the team began practice Tuesday.
Sadler earned MAAC Rookie of the Week honors two weeks ago
after averaging 13 points per game in wins over St. Peter’s and Marist.
His 25.1 minutes per game in conference games ranks fourth
on the team.
If he doesn’t play, Baggett could fill those minutes with
freshman Khalil Alford or stick with junior Nurideen Lindsey for longer
stretches.
Alford came off the bench to score eight points in the
second half against CSU.
“It’s been a feel thing of who we take off the bench,”
Baggett said. “Khalil’s played some four and some three. I’m just happy that we
have depth and guys that we are able to go to on the bench and step up at some
point this year.
“I haven’t made that decision where we are yet with Zed.
Everybody’s factored into playing.”
The Broncs (16-13, 10-6) face first-place Niagara (17-11,
12-4) Thursday night and finish the regular season Saturday at Canisius (17-11,
10-6).
