St. John's transfer Nurideen Lindsey set to join Rider
CBS Sports Network’s Jon Rothstein first reported that Lindsey had settled on Rider following his announcement to leave the Big East school in December.
The source said Lindsey will enroll in classes next week — the university begins its second semester Monday — and seek a waiver that will allow him to begin play at the beginning of next season.
Lindsey, a 6-foot-3, 180-pound guard from Philadelphia by way of Redlands Community College in El Reno, Okla., averaged 11.8 points per game in nine appearances — all starts —for the Red Storm.
He originally announced on twitter last week that he would be transferring to Arkansas but had a change of heart and decided to move closer to home.
Lindsey also considered Temple and Saint Joseph’s.
Lindsey, a sophomore, will have 1 1/2 seasons of eligibility remaining and can begin playing for the Broncs next December unless he is granted the waiver that will allow him to begin play immediately next season.
